Pet Portrait, Art Classes and a quote…

I FINALLY got a few minutes (ok, more like hours, but…) to create yesterday, and I needed this time. I start feeling overwhelmed and edgy, like something just isn’t quite right, and it isn’t. Maybe it is an addiction? If it is, like the song says, I don’t wanna be right.

Art: finished my first pet portrait painting. Meet Copper, a Bloodhound that belongs to our family. Actually, he’s my grand-furbaby.

The kiddos (3rd thru 5th) seem to be enjoying my art classes. We’ve studied Britto, and they loved creating self portraits inspired by his style. This week we’re learning about Georgia O’Keeffe, and creating Navajo blankets, animal skulls, and flowers in her style of painting. I will hopefully have some pics to share, after this week. If you’d like to check out the self portraits come visit RVA’s (RiverviewsArtspace.org) student art exhibit coming soon…

Peace, Valerie
