Art:
There’s an old expression I’ve heard applied to writers who are struggling with block. It says the best way to break through a block is the application of the ass to the seat and writing/working. I seem to be guilty of that myself lately. I am unable to find my way into the studio chair and applying myself to some work. I have also forgotten one of my top favorite artist quotes that applies (pun intended) here as well. I will reshare for todays quote.
Flamingo In Art Fun Facts:
In the mosaic decorations of many early Christian buildings, flamingos appear and seem to simply witness the beauty of the early Christian paradises- lush vegetation and populated by a variety of animals. They were often sacrificed in the Pantheon in honor of Jupiter and Isis. So flamingos seem to have became synonymous with rarity, luxury and exoticism. They were also eaten as a delicacy. 🤢 The flamingos hollow femurs were considered the most suitable for the construction of the ‘launeddas’, a three-pipe wind instrument and used since prehistoric times. Not today-they are produced with marsh reeds. Interestingly, the flamingo has never been associated with beliefs or ethical conceptions.
Seeing a flamingo can mean that you need to bring more fun into your life. Forgive yourself and get rid of all negative emotions. If the flamingo has appears in your dreams, it is a sign that you should live your life to the fullest. I am tempted to purchase a few flamingos to remind myself of this fact.
Inspiration exists, but it must find you working.
