Emotions can be wonderful and terrible all at the same time. This piece of art demonstrates that with an exactness and a sort of simple complexity. The upheaval my emotions have been enduring are best described in this manner-white hot, wounded red, and darkly intense with a warm burnt sienna snaking in around and outward. In respect to those feelings, the colors and brush strokes seem to extract and give voice to this painting.
I will leave you with this quote from Francesco Guicciardino, a historian, and political write of the Italian Renaissance-
“To give vent now and then to his feelings, whether of pleasure or
discontent, is a great ease to a man’s heart.”
Peace,
Valerie
