Picasso says that there is no abstract, that you must start from something, and remove all traces of reality. Pollock thought that abstract should be enjoyed in the way that music is.
Painting is, for me, similar to a meditation or prayer. When I can let go of fears, and the everyday “stuff” then I can get out of the way and let art happen. The brush works in a harmonious rhythm with the paint and canvas and I try to follow where they lead.
When it all comes together…..harmony, pure and sweet.
I hope each of you find harmony every once in a while,

Valerie
