|8×10 Oil on Stretched Canvas Woman at Rest No. 3 $115|
So why are there no faces on my women? I purposely did not explain this right away because I wanted to see how/what any of you were reacting to these pieces first. Since I am in such a good mood about being 1/4th of the way into this journey, I am going to help you out.
Whenever most people look at art life painting or “people” they tend to stop at the face and lose sight of other things that may be going on or represented in the work, and that is exactly what I DO NOT want you to do.
When you look at a piece of art. Really look at it. Give it at chance to tell you something. Or make you feel something. Look at the posture, the placement, the strokes, the shapes and the colors. Are these women truly at rest? Are they happy or sad or maybe pensive? Do the colors and shapes and strokes of paint influence how you feel or what you interpret about the work?
When you look at a piece of art. Really look at it. Give it at chance to tell you something. Or make you feel something, its an opportunity to connect with the artist, and a story that many never learn the value of or understand what they missed.
